Once a year the Kimberley Rotary Club hosts Lobsterfest at the Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre. This year maked the eighth Lobsterfest event, with 190 guests, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, a 50/50 draw and much more.

More discussions with East Kootenay residents are needed before new laws around Marijuana go into place. This from Tamara Duggan, the owner of Tamarack Dispensaries in Kimberley.

Kimberley Council received another application for a medical marijuana dispensary last week. The city became the first municipality in the province to grant a business license to a medical marijuana dispensary in June of 2015. Since that time, Tamarack Dispensaries has operated in Marysville, and recently won a Business Excellence award at the Chamber of Commerce gala.

Medical marijuana dispensaries should be permitted and regulated, rather than shut down by police.
